before we did anything to it

Looking for new gardening opportunities in Forest Hills public spaces, we focused on a long stretch of Yellowstone Boulevard near the commercial center of Austin Street and the intersection with Queens Boulevard.  Thousands drive and walk past it daily.  The four corners were mostly unattended.  Neighbor Bob Newell put in some yucca plants and occasionally picked up the trash but it was otherwise on its own.
